This song, Meditations, best represents our musical style. It tells the story of a wounded man who chooses to fight honorably to the death and accept his fate. The fast, thrashing riffs are followed by a memorable chorus and a slow, brutal breakdown.
The Victorious Dead has achieved much in a short time.
- 30+ live shows in New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, as well as New Jersey, Upstate New York, and Long Island.
- A strong debut EP Life of Death ('24) followed by the full length The Reaper at the Gates ('25)
- Opening for larger acts such as TTCM
To The Darkness is a slow, doomy dirge about the fight for good in a world of evil. This fight is only possible if you stand tall, and fight alongside your brothers. The music bears significant influence from Doom, Death, and Melodeath genres.
The Reaper at the Gates is our live closer. The chorus uses catchy counterpoint and the guitar solo is beautiful. It is the only song we have played at every show.
No Mercy has an ominous intro followed by relentless double-bass, low B string heaviness. It is a live favorite. The video shows us playing it at Wacken Metal Battle for a group of industry professionals and a great NYC crowd.
